SPAM ERODES TRUST IN email
Associated Press and Yahoo News report that Americans are using email less and trusting it less because of spam, according to a survey by the Pew Internet, and American Life Project. The survey said 29 percent have reduced their overall use of email, compared to 25 percent in June, and 63 percent trust it less, up from 52 percent in June.
The article said the federal spam law enacted has had little effect, with 53 percent reporting no change and 24 percent an increase in spam. Only 20 percent got less, the survey said.
