FRAUDULENT TRAVEL WEB SITE
I recently found that I had lost $284 to a travel company in Honolulu, Hawaii. When I originally discovered the website and information about discount tickets to events in Hawaii, it seemed very plausible and on the up and up. I researched different sites, looked at different prices, etc. There was no indication that this company would fail to follow through on their promises. As my vacation rapidly approached I tried to contact the company through their website, their email and even by looking up the owner's name and office address and phone number. There has never been a response and I never received the vouchers for the luau that I +paid for. In fact the website is no longer available and no one answers the phone. I contacted my credit card company and have no recourse through them as I ordered the vouchers too long ago. Travel complaints and money loss provide a whole different spectrum of problems because a person doesn't know that there is a problem until it is too late, travel has commenced or hasn't because of the problem and too much time has passed since planning and ordering the vouchers to fall under the "fraud investigation" umbrella (time allotment) of most credit card companies. I am pursuing different avenues. I would like to get my money back but am realistic and realize that this probably won't happen but either way I hope to make it difficult for this company to pursue further business opportunities either there or anywhere else in the U.S.
